Climbing to the Top of Duomo Milano (day 17)

21-April-2002 (Sunday): With clear blue skies and sunshine to motivate me, I decided today was the day to climb to the top of Milan's Duomo. The climb was a fairly good workout, and it was interesting to see how quickly the ascenders and descenders developed an etiquette to politely avoid sending one another tumbling down the stairs.

The views from the top were spectacular. Interestingly, from one location you could see the Pirelli Building in the distance, including the whole made by the airplane. From other places, peering down the massive structure, it seemed like something from MC Escher.

For dinner, I met Michael, Marco, and Claudio at Pizzeria Naturale.
