Historically, Monte Rosso was a coastal fishing village. Tourism has replaced fishing as the main industry, but the surrounding vineyards are still active (Giumin Cinqueterre Sciacchetra). It's also worth noting that "pesto" was invented in this area, so the pesto sauces should be worth trying...
This area is also known as the Ligurian Riviera. It's a set of ancient seaside villages, suspended high atop the rocky Italian cliffs overloking the Mediterranian. I think it's time for some Campari & Soda, then dinner. Tomorrow, it's time to go exploring!
