Back in Milan, Michael was waiting to lead a tour of the famous gourmet market Peck, where we ate lunch, and then the tour continued to the famous high-fashion shopping district based on Via Della Spiga. I expected to bump into Carrie Bradshaw at Prada, Cavalli, or Massimo Piombo.
This busy day was brought to a close at a well known, very traditional and elegant restaurant behind the Porta Genova station called Osteria dei Binari. They serve Lombard and Piedmontese specialties in welcoming and tastefully decorated surroundings. As long as you are hungry, their fixed-price no-more-decisions-to-make menu is wonderful. If the sun is out, guests in the know can challenge the chef to a game of bocce in the restaurant's arbour, and if you win the meal is on the house. If you loose, you pay double. Fortunately, the sun wasn't out...
