Just Another Day in Paradise (day 22)

26-April-2002 (Friday): So, I'm afraid I've been too busy in Venice to take as many photos as would be ideal. No award-winning or intensely interesting pictures to reveal today. There are many wonderful distractions, and it seems I'm always either too involved to remember to snap the shot, or the camera isn't at hand. But rest assured, I'm having a great time exploring in Venice.

Starting the day at Cafe Florian turns our to be an easy habit to form... Today, that was followed by much sun, gelato, and tours of the streets, canals, towers, and the Peggy Gugenheim Musuem. Then in the evening, I had what was hands-down the best seat in the house for the classic opera Don Pasquale. What a performance! Like La Scalla in Milan, La Fenice in Venice is being renovated, so this show was held in the historic Teatro Malibran, which is the "temporary" home for opera in Venice.
