Rob in Italy
Are you reading this? let me know...!

(day 1)

5-April-2002 (Friday): I woke up this morning with the predictable jet-lag, and eventually Michael and I began exploring Milan. The weather was very nice, and Michael gave me the basic "getting acquainted" tour -- showing me where to buy groceries, clothing, etc for lunch we had "toast" which consisted of toast, cheese, and tomato, and hit the spot perfectly. Then we hit the street again, and I found a pair of Italian casual shoes to wear with my jeans. Armed with my new shoes, a bounce in my step, and a wad of freshly minted Euros, the gelato was on me it was perfect weather for the perfect Italian treat (pictured above).

Around dinner time, I was introduced to the special Milan tradition of "Happy Hours" wherein underpaid English teachers congregate and dine on the local cuisine for no more than the price of a drink. It's now 1:30AM, and we've just returned from "dinner." Good fun.
